Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo published a story claiming that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy was ready to sell their star asset.
It was said that Tottenham were keen avoid a similar situation as to when they sold Luka Modric in 2012.
They also claimed that the north London club would not be interested in a player-plus-cash offer involving Gareth Bale.
Instead, it was reported that Mauricio Pochettino’s side are hoping for a straight up sale to esnure that they have time to rebuild the squad.
