GETTY LeBron James and Steph Curry during the Cavs and the Warriors' most recent meeting in January
Curry’s Golden State Warriors take on James and the Cleveland Cavaliers at this stage for the fourth year in a row with Game 1 kickstarting another epic showdown tomorrow (2am UK time). Golden State are the favourites and undoubtedly boast the stronger roster with four All-Stars and three top-tier shooters in Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson and Curry himself. But the Cavs, while weaker as a unit, boast the league’s best player in James - who has been on fire throughout the post-season. His 34-point, 9.2-rebound, 8.8-assist average marks him as the most formidable potential opponent the Warriors could face with James chasing a fourth championship in what could be his final year with Cleveland.

And All-Star point guard Curry - who will be one of Golden State’s chief threats having looked sharper and sharper with every game since returning from injury on May 5 - admits James is the man who the Warriors focus much of their attention on. “It’s a weird dynamic,” said Curry speaking about the Finals with the Cavs’ roster having undergone huge changes since they last met in mid-January. “This is fourth time in a row we’ve played Cleveland in the Finals, LeBron’s still there and he’s ‘Mr Everything’ for them. “He’s been playing amazing over the whole regular season and especially in these playoffs to will his team back here. “We’ve been watching a little bit of film, trying to figure out how the other guys fit in around him and where some of their tendencies are.
