Anthony Joshua is closing in on a deal to fight Joseph Parker
Joshua successfully defended his WBA and IBF belts in October, stopping Carlos Takam in the 10th round in front of 78,000 fans at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff.
Promoter Eddie Hearn then outlined their plans to unify the heavyweight division next year, a feat that would require Joshua to record wins over Parker and WBC champion Deontay Wilder.
But the latter believes Joshua is putting off their bout until later in the year and is instead pursuing unbeaten Cuban Luis Ortiz.
However, Parker’s promoters are in talks with Hearn over the bout and the New Zealander has revealed they are closing in on a March fight date.
