GETTY Eddie Hearn has revealed why Anthony Joshua wants to fight in the UK
Wilder submitted a $50million (£37m) offer to Joshua to fight in the United States later this year. But the Brit knocked back the bid because he feels he has earned the right to fight on home soil. Hearn is currently negotiating to bring Wilder over to the UK with Cardiff’s Principality Stadium or Wembley touted as potential destinations for the bout. The promoter explained that Joshua’s real motive to bring the WBC champion over to the UK is to pay back his loyal fans.

Hearn thinks the British audience would only have access to up to 9,000 tickets if the fight was in Las Vegas, compared to 90,000 in London. "We all decided as a team that the first fight should be in the UK,” Hearn told Boxing Scene. “It's not a case of being arrogant but at the moment there's a very clear A-side in the fight, and the fight should take place where that A-side wants that fight to take place. If Wilder wins he becomes the A-side. "They [Wilder's team] made a very strong offer, there's no denying that, but it's not an amount of money that's going to change Anthony's life.
