Ronaldo could leave Real Madrid this summer after hinting at a departure after Saturday’s Champions League final. Inevitably, Manchester United and PSG are spearheading the race for his signature. United have always held out of hope the 33-year-old would one day return to Old Trafford, despite quitting the club in the summer of 2009. PSG, however, are also in the mix - with the club preparing for the possible departure of both United and Real Madrid target Neymar. Ronaldo said at the weekend: "It was very nice to be at Real Madrid, in the coming days I will talk about it more." And his mother Aveiro has now added fuel to the fire.

In an interview with French TV, she said: “I like Paris. I come every now and again. “The last time was when my son received the Ballon d'Or. “It was a great honour. But Sky Sports pundit Guillem Balague thinks he is destined to end up with a new and improved Real deal. He revealed on his official YouTube channel: “In the changing room [after the final] Sergio Ramos told Cristiano Ronaldo, ‘Just stop it. Calm down. Stop it. Come out and apologise. Don’t worry about it, we’ll help you to get what you want.’ “And of course what he wants is that Real Madrid pays most of the tax bill which will be very, very big as he’s been accusing of defrauding about €40million (£35m) from the tax man. “Also he wants to be ahead of Neymar and close to Messi in wages. Real Madrid have offered between €30-33m last month in the first meetings. “This was a promise that was given a year ago by [club president] Florentino Perez that the contract will be renewed. “Cristiano feels not loved by Florentino and feels that Real should have acted differently with him and this contract should have been sorted.
