Warriors’ coach Steve Kerr said that he’s pleased with Stephen Curry’s progress before the team hosted the Portland Trail Blazers on Monday.
“I think he’s coming along well,” Kerr said. “I didn’t ask [Warriors’ trainer] Chelsea [Lane], like, is he a day ahead of schedule or anything like that,” Kerr said. “He’s just coming along well. Everything’s going smoothly.”
Curry, who is expected to be sidelined with a sprained right ankle at least until Dec. 19, is no longer in a walking boot. He worked out on a stationary bike during the team’s shoot around Monday morning.

The Warriors’ superstar suffered the injury in New Orleans and missed the team’s last two games of their six-game road trip. Curry returned home to Oakland before the Warriors’ final away game at Detroit, but he apparently really missed his teammates.
The two-time MVP photoshopped himself into a photo of the team on the plane returning home, and posted it to his Instagram page on Sunday.
(Yes, that’s him hugging a stuffed animal on the floor.)
Kerr chuckled when asked if he’d seen the photo, and said that his wife had indeed shown it to him.
“I think he loves being part of the group, so he had to insert himself into the group since he wasn’t there,” Kerr said. “It’s good to see him in the locker room and on the practice floor even though he’s not working yet. It’s just good to have him around.”
