Lionel Messi has bluntly described Barcelona's defeat by Real Madrid as 'f***** up' after the Argentinian saw Cristiano Ronaldo and Co storm the Nou Camp in the first Clasico of the campaign.
Barcelona began life after Neymar with a 3-1 reverse against their greatest rivals in the Spanish Super Cup first leg and Ronaldo took centre stage as he scored a stunning winner before being sent off.
The game further hinted at a changing of the guard at the very top of Spanish football and Messi put no filter on his emotions as he took in the previous day's events on Monday morning.
Lionel Messi posted the blunt message along with a training picture on Instagram
Posting a picture of himself training on Instagram, Messi's caption translated to: 'F***** up day but you have to get up and go. This is just starting.'
Messi buried a penalty in the ill-tempered match to cancel out Gerard Pique's own goal, but Barcelona again found themselves behind when Ronaldo came off the bench and fired in a stunning effort.
Barcelona looked set to get themselves back in the match after the FIFA Player of the Year was sent off after receiving a second yellow card for an apparent dive, but instead found themselves further behind by full time.

Messi scored a penalty before Ronaldo and Marco Asensio scored to seal the victory
Marco Asensio was the man to give Real Madrid a commanding two-goal lead with another long-range effort in injury time, further enhancing his growing reputation as a new star under Zinedine Zidane.
It was also a bad start for new manager Ernesto Valverde, who could find himself under immediate pressure if Barcelona do not reclaim some respect in the second leg this Wednesday.
Barcelona should have the benefit of not having to face Ronaldo although Zidane did confirm that the club would try to appeal his star player's second yellow card.
'We played a great game but I am annoyed by Cristiano's sending off,' Zidane told a news conference.
'Perhaps it wasn't a penalty but the red card is a little harsh. We can't change it, but we'll try and make sure he plays on Wednesday.'
