Floyd Mayweather has shut down reports that a deal has been made for him and Conor McGregor to fight inside the squared-circle.
The unbeaten boxer and the UFC superstar have been teasing the bout for months and it had seemed significant progress had been made in negotiations on Tuesday.
The Nevada State Athletic Commission chairman claimed 'real discussions' have been held with the 'real players involved.'

Reports had suggest the 39-year-old had held talk with UFC star Conor McGregor
However, Mayweather, who called time on his career in 2015 after moving to 49-0 against Andre Berto, has taken to Instagram to insist he is 'happily retired.'
'Although there has been several rumours circulating through [the] media suggesting that I will have an upcoming fight, I'd like to set that record straight and state that there has been no deals made on my behalf in regards to a bout with any fighter at this time,' he wrote.
'I am happily retired and enjoying my life!' he added. 'Rest assured that if any changes come about, I will be the first to let the world know!'
Whether or not this is simply a bargaining ploy remains to be seen. One thing that is for sure is that McGregor has his sights firmly set on 'The Money Team' leader.

'I'm going to go to Las Vegas, get my boxing license and then we see where the f*** Floyd's at,' he told MMA broadcaster Ariel Helwani at a Q&A last week.
'I have my eyes on one thing and that's Floyd Mayweather.'
A cross-over bout between the 'Notorious' and 'Money Man' could be worth up to one billion dollars.
The contest would set the sweet science on a collision course with it's modern rival, MMA, in one of the biggest fights of all time.
