The Warriors were outplayed in Game 4 in San Antonio on Sunday as they trailed from start to finish while trying to sweep the Spurs. San Antonio used 15-of-28 3-point shooting and some strong play to remain alive.
The Spurs will play their third straight game without head coach Gregg Popovich in Oakland Tuesday. He is still mourning his wife’s death and will be replaced again by assistant coach Ettore Messina.
Golden State’s lackluster effort Sunday prevented it from getting more rest for its expected semifinals matchup against New Orleans, which finished off Portland in a four-game sweep.

LaMarcus Aldridge’s 22 points led the Spurs Sunday, but they also got a strong effort from 40-year-old Manu Ginobili, who added some toughness and hustle again on his way to 16 points.

If the Spurs win Tuesday, Game 6 will be in San Antonio on Thursday night. Should the Warriors win Tuesday, their series vs. New Orleans will start either Saturday or Sunday at Oracle.
