Chelsea should sign James Rodriguez this month because it could be the difference between winning the Premier League title or finishing as runners-up.
That’s the view of former Blues striker Chris Sutton, who thinks it makes more sense than signing a defensive player.

Sutton believes it would be a great move – and would make more sense than signing a new defender.
‘I have heard people say Chelsea need another defender but they have Kurt Zouma coming back and John Terry as back-up,’ Sutton, who spent a season at Stamford Bridge, told the Daily Mail.

‘James would give them a top-quality replacement should any of their key forwards get injured and the transfer would be a real statement of intent to Chelsea’s rivals.
‘He could be the difference between finishing as runners-up and winning the title.’
