NEW YORK — It's that time of the summer for Yankees and Mets fans to get into arguments about their clubs.
Yankees fans can brag about how they're a playoff contender and laugh at the Mets before being out of it already after going into the season as a legitimate World Series hopeful.
Meantime, Mets fans can claim Yankees rookie slugger Aaron Judge is a flash in the pan and say their team would be the best in New York if not for a bunch of serious injuries, several of which wrecked their rotation of young aces.
Meantime, the Yankees and Mets will play four times in four days beginning Monday night, two at Yankee Stadium first and then two at Citi Field.
Who will be the stars of this year’s Subway Series?
It could be somebody new, as 16 first-timers are on the clubs’ rosters, a few of them young stars such as Amed Rosario and Dominic Smith for the Mets, Judge for the Yankees.
"I'm fired up," Judge said. "I'm looking forward to it. Definitely."
Here’s a look at the first-time Subway Series players:
