MINNEAPOLIS, MINN -- As a member of the New England Patriots, there's a good chance that fans and media members will recognize your name. You'll see it spelled out in writing on rosters or pronounced by play-by-play men on TV, and eventually it becomes something you remember. That's the case for some of the easier names, at least, like Tom Brady or James White.
But what happens when the name is a little tougher to spell?
The Patriots had a tight end by the name of Michael Hoomanawanui from 2012-2015. You would have been hard pressed to find someone that pronounced his last name right. Instead, fans, players and commentators alike went with the shortened "Hoo-man" name, just to make things easier on themselves.
Still, it might have been nice if someone even tried to pronounce his name. The Patriots had him give a tutorial on how to pronounce it on their Facebook page, but it was still too hard.
This year's Patriots team does not have anyone with a name as difficult to spell or say as Hoomanawanui, but it does have some tough ones. Here's a look at some of the toughest names to say on the Patriots, and how to pronounce them.
