Evan Phillips wins the the 2015 Fearnot-Laufman-Greatbatch Award!

Congratulations to Evan Phillips, the 2015 Fearnot-Laufman-Greatbatch Award winner! His presentation, "In vivo ultrasound and photoacoustic imaging of aortic disease in a murine model" was selected as the top presentation among the 18 summer seminars presented this year. This award, originally called the Fearnot Prize and first presented in 1992, was established and funded by Dr. Neal Fearnot who realized the value of providing students with the opportunity to present their research after his own such experience as a graduate student.

This summer we had 18 excellent speakers, so excellent that for a while the scores were so evenly matched we were concerned about the ability to choose a winner. So congratulations to all the summer seminar presenters for a job well done, and a special thanks to Kevin Buno who organized the 2015 summer seminar series. Ultimately, a clear winner emerged. Evan received the highest overall score, the highest average of all 12 questions on the evaluation form, and the most perfect scores. Job well done!
