Welcome to our Student Spotlight! The place where you get the inside scoop on what it is like to be a Purdue Engineer!

One of my favorite student organizations at Purdue is S.W.E. (Society of Women Engineers). I am on the executive board as the Social Competitions Chair. I have had a variety of positions in this roll, including coordinating SWE’s homecoming float entry in this year’s parade. However, my favorite part of this roll is coaching all of SWE’s intramural sports. So far, I have lead teams in soccer, volleyball, basketball, and even coached a championship team in floor hockey. I love that my position in SWE allows me to do what I love (play sports)!
My advice to incoming students is to get involved in something you enjoy! Don’t just sign up for things so that you can add them to a resume. I was concerned about building a detailed resume when I entered college, and what I found was that when you find something you really like to do, your college resume will build itself. I would also strongly encourage new students to get involved with Women in Engineering and Purdue (WIEP) and SWE.
