Choice Session Descriptions

Engineering Projects in Community Service (EPICS) – Hear from staff members regarding this unique program.  Undergraduates learn real-world engineering skills by defining, designing, building, testing, deploying, and supporting engineering solutions assisting local community service and education organizations.  This is a for-credit academic program.
Global Engineering Experiences – Global Engineering Learning provides opportunities to all engineering students of Purdue through global educational initiatives that empower them to become leaders of engineering discovery, engagement and learning.  The Global Engineering Learning Portfolio is made up of opportunities in the following areas:  Study Abroad; Global Service Learning; Work Abroad; Global Research; Global Awareness at Home and Global Scholarships.
Professional Practice Opportunities Several opportunities are available to experience this structured work practice. The traditional Co-Op program has been combined with a variety of work schedules.  Our aim is to meet varying individual student needs with varying practical learning opportunities.  Some of these new programs are based on traditional Co-Op experiences, and some are internships.
Honors Engineering Experiences The First-Year Engineering Honors Program offers highly motivated, academically talented students with a broader; more enriched academic experience during the first year of college. If you are looking for a higher degree of intensity in your undergraduate studies, this may be the program for you.
The following is offered only for the Fall Session:
Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowships (SURF) - This program is helping students discover a world of opportunity available to them through research.  By working with other creative and innovative people, students explore, discover, and transform ideas into reality to advance society and improve people's lives.  Undergraduates in the program are paid a stipend for the 11-week summer program while they conduct research activities on the West Lafayette campus.
