Access Alum

A networking opportunity for all women in engineering!

"Purdue WIEP has always sought ways to develop and implement new programs that meet the needs of women pursuing advanced engineering degrees at various stages of their graduate study. I am now an engineering doctoral candidate with an array of professional experiences that could lead me into many career paths. In attending "Access Alum", I have built relationships with very successful engineering alumni that have helped me make better informed decisions on where I would like to start my career and strategically plan to develop as a leader. Access Alum is priceless."  - Velvet Fitzpatrick

WIEP is excited to offer you this opportunity to have informal chats with our alumnae (corporate, academic, government, non-traditional, etc.) as they visit campus.  You can drop by at your convenience during the time range listed below to connect with our alumnae and other program participants, in addition to enjoying a snack and, for those of you participating in the WIEP M&M programs, you can earn points for attending a social event.  We know you will benefit greatly from these sessions. Because these events are open to both our undergraduate and graduate students, please use this opportunity to network with each other as well! For example, undergraduate students interested in graduate school can use this occasion to ask questions about graduate school.

As these are designed to be informal, please come as you are (no need to dress up, unless indicated otherwise below).  Our guests welcome discussions on all topics, including work-life balance, life in the corporate setting, etc. On occasion, alumnae may indicate that they are interested in recruiting for their company, and in those cases, we will indicate below if the visiting alumnae are interested in accepting resumes.

In case you are uncertain as to what to ask our guests, here is a list of sample questions to get you thinking - check back frequently for updates to this list and to the schedule below!

To recommend an alum for future events contact Cathy Deno (denoc@purdue.edu).
