Established in 1866, Texas A&M University (TAMU) is the first public institution of higher education in Texas, and ranks among the oldest in the United States. Today, TAMU boasts a student body totaling over 60,000 undergraduate and graduate students, a campus of more than 5,200 acres, and over 16 established academic departments. The Artie McFerrin Department of Chemical Engineering at Texas A&M University continues this long-standing tradition of excellence, being consistently ranked among the top chemical engineering programs nationwide.

On July 9, 2015, Prof. Pol delivered an invited talk, "Creation of Desired Electrode Architectures for Efficient Rechargeable Batteries," at Texas A&M University, TX, U.S.A. In this lecture, Prof. Pol discussed the current opinion upon the challenges energy storage and the ViPER Group's approaches toward green and scalable solutions. This talk was part of the Artie McFerrin Department of Chemical Engineering Seminar Series.
