2015 AIAD Cadet Research Fellowship

The Advanced Individual Academic Development (AIAD) Program provides miltary cadets with the opportunity to exercise and apply their education in chemistry, chemical engineering, and life science to projects on the cutting-edge of the research world. Developed by the Department of Chemistry & Life Science at the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY, the 2015 AIAD program allows cadets to network and perform research with leaders in government, research, and private sectors across the globe. This program enables cadets to broaden their perspective and enrich the practicality of their education.

The AIAD Program is made possible by the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), a government agency within the United States Department of Defense. Established in 1988, the DTRA is dedicated to securing world safety by reducing the threat posed by weapons of mass destruction. The J9 Nuclear Science and Engineering Research Center (NSERC) is a subsidiary office of the DTRA Nuclear Technologies Department. The J9 NSERC office was established in partnership with the United States Military Academy and is hosted by the Department of Physics and Nuclear Engineering at West Point, NY.

The ViPER Group would like to thank our 2015 DTRA Summer Research Fellow, Batkhongor Chagnaa, for his hard work and dedication to this research experience. Thank you to Major McQuary, the Chief Director of the DTRA J9 Office, and Anthony Chase, Manager of Cadet Summer Research Program, for making this opportunity possible.
