2005 Poster Exchange
News Date: 2005/11/17 00:00:00 US/Eastern
The poster exchange was held a month later than usual this year due to the schedule conflicting with Homecoming weekend. The delay did not deter the crowds, as this Poster Exchange was as successful as ever. Poster Exchange donors began to arrive well before the 11am opening on Tuesday, November 15 to secure their places in line. Those who donate to the Poster Exchange are invited to attend a day earlier than non-donors. The head-start allowed Purdue faculty and staff members to choose their favorite pieces before their co-workers had a chance to see them.
The next morning at 11am, non-donors who had previously participated in the Poster Exchange arrived to trade-in the artwork from their offices for new pieces. The trades were made on a one-for-one basis. This was the busiest day of the exchange, and also the longest.
Thursday’s Exchange invited new participants to join the fun. Faculty and staff members who had never participated before, or those who wished to add to their number of prints, were allowed to choose as many pieces as they would like for their office or conference area. The Exchange was declared a success at the end of the day when only a handful of posters remained.
