Last month, the University Visual Arts Committee auctioned off two metal sculptures from outside the old Creative Arts buildings on the Purdue campus. The land on which the sculptures stood is scheduled to be cleared for a new campus building, and the University turned them over to the University Visual Arts Committee for removal.

The lucky winner of the auction was Marian Delp, a long-time employee of Purdue's Engineering Computer Network. Delp paid not only for the sculptures themselves, but also the cost of transporting them to her home near campus. "I was suprised how much they seemed to grow between their original location and my yard!" she laughed. The sculptures appear massive beside her West Lafayette home. Delp plans to integrate the sculptures into her landscape architecture, but says that at this point in time, it's a total mystery how she'll accomplish it.
