Short Description:
The water sculpture is a gift from the class of 1939 for their 50 year anniversary. The total cost of the sculpture was $350,000. The design for the fountain was originally sketched on a Purdue Memorial Union napkin while Youngman and the head of the Department of Creative Arts were having a cup of coffee. Roughly 228 tons of concrete were used in creating the Fountain that reaches 38 feet high.
