We are currently fundraising for 3 projects. By donating to these projects, donors will have a direct impact on the lives of people in the community. Terry, a paraplegic member of the Lafayette Spinners, wants to drive a manual car. The clutch project was inspired by him, and this project will allow him to achieve this. A participant in the Adaptive CrossFit Games and Purdue student approached RIISE with an idea to create a weightlifting grip that can be engaged without the assistance of a second person. The grips project will allow this student to see her idea come to life and exercise more independently. Craig, an adaptive curler, saw room for improvement in the accessibility of adaptive curling and brought his ideas to RIISE. The development team is working on an accessible grip for the curling stick and an easier way to attach the stick to a wheelchair while it’s not in use. This project will help make adaptive curling more accessible for everyone regardless of their disability.
