As an international student at Purdue University, I choose Mechanical Engineering as my major because one of my great enthusiasms lies in mathematics.  The Mechanical Engineering program and Cooperative Education Program offered by Purdue University is a progressing field that interests me a lot because it offers a solid course curriculum that will not only allow me to build on my previous extensive science experience but also give me the professional practice that are required in the rapidly changing world.

Cummins Inc. is global leader on design and manufacture of diesel engines. The units include fuel systems, controls, filtration, emission solutions and electrical power generation systems. The company is headquartered in Columbus, IN. Cummins Fuel Systems, where I Co-Op in the summer, designs, develops and manufactures fuel system and electronic control module in the States. This business services from 9 to 72 liters engines.

Being a Co-Op student at a high-tech diesel engine manufacture company has enabled me to utilize my technical and interpersonal skills in new and challenging ways.  The position has also allowed me to interact with a multitude of departments including software/C++ development and manufacturing production line.  I thus have gained an array of experience that extended beyond the parameters of my own responsibilities.  I also had a chance to take many training courses provided by Cummins to help me understand how basically engine and devices work.  Through these projects I have learned more than simple mechanical design.
