Visualization and Analytics Workshop

  Co-sponsored by

Please join us for the first Visualization and Analytics Workshop at the Purdue University Regional Visualization and Analytics Center (PURVAC) sponsored by the Department of Homeland Security. The event is a collaboration among the Indiana Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH), Purdue University, and Indiana University.

Don't miss this opportunity to learn about our exciting new technology and plans for integrating large mixed datasets from a variety of sources, providing new techniques for integrated data analysis and visualization, plus mobile device adapted techniques. This technology will benefit emergency management and response, healthcare monitoring and management, logistics management, business analytics, and scientific analysis.

The interdisciplinary team will consist of about 20 faculty and graduate researchers from Purdue's School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Departments of Computer Science and Statistics, and School of Management and the IU School of Medicine as well as collaborators from the ISDH and Indiana DHS. The project actively seeks the involvement of Indiana businesses to contribute to the center's efforts and to partner for technology transfer to practice.

The kickoff and workshop, co-sponsored by Indiana Innovating Network, will feature talks by Dr. Jim Thomas, director of the DHS National Visualization and Analytics Center, Dr. Eric Dietz, executive director of the Indiana Department of Homeland Security, and Dr. Roland Gamache, director State Health Data Center at the Indiana State Department of Health.

A reception and demonstrations of PURVAC project plans, related technology, and initial results will follow.

Please RSVP to Robin Canada or David S. Ebert.
