Roy Receives IEEE Distinguished Research Award

Congratulations to C-BRIC Director, Kaushik Roy. Roy received an IEEE Technical Committee on Very Large Scale Integration Distinguished Research Award for 2020. Roy was selected for this award for his "demonstrated research excellence for a period of at least 10 years" and his "outstanding research contributions to the VLSI community through a leadership position." 

 

Roy is the Edward G. Tiedemann, Jr., Distinguished Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Purdue University. He is the Director of the Center for Brain-Inspired Computing (C-BRIC). And he has supervised 91 PhD dissertations and his students are well placed in universities and industry.

 

Hai "Helen" Li of Duke University, a graduate student advised by Kaushik Roy, also received the IEEE Technical Committee on Very Large Scale Integration Distinguished Research Award this year. Li is the Clare Boothe Luce Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Duke. Li graduated from Purdue University in 2004.
