Karim has won the Best Poster Award on his work on phase field modeling of grain growth in porous UO₂, at the World’s most important conference on phase field methods last week in Pennsylvania.

The poster was presented at the third international conference on phase field method, in State College, PA, August 26-29,2014. The title is "Grain Growth in Porous Oxides: Diffuse-Interface Modeling and Experiments". The authors are Karim Ahmed1, Anter El-Azab1, Janne Pakarinen2, Lingfeng He2,Todd Allen2, where 1 is for Purdue University and for University of Wisconsin-Madison.
