Mission

The general mission of the School of Nuclear Engineering is to benefit the public at large with the knowledge of nuclear processes, applications and radiation science consistent with Purdue University's mission of maintaining excellence in teaching, research, and service. This knowledge will be disseminated through our students and the publications and presentations by our faculty.

Vision

We will provide our students with educational experiences that will enable them to become leaders in their profession and society. We will maintain and develop world-class research programs that complement our educational mission, address the evolving needs of industry and society.

The School of Nuclear Engineering is a community of faculty, staff, students, alumni, and partners/sponsors working together to create a stimulating, diverse and positive environment of learning and discovery. We strive to provide the highest quality of education to our students, so they can become true leaders and outstanding citizens. We constantly endeavor for research activities that will contribute to the well-being of people, the economy and the environment in the state, the nation and throughout the world.
