Announcements

•    The final exam will be held from 10:30am to 12:30pm in ARMS 1010 on Dec. 13 (Friday).  This is a closed book exam and no crib sheet is allowed.  Only the Purdue ME approved calculators can be used, i.e., no programmable or graphical display calculators.  An equation sheet will be provided (you can download it here).  

• All the lectures will be delivered in class as follows:

  •   Location: LWSN 1142 between 1:30pm and 2:20am on Tuesdays and Thursdays

  • Course notes need to be downloaded and printed in advance from the Brighspace before each lecture and brought to the class.  No separate handouts will be given.

•  All the lab sessions will be held in Potter 333.   Students will be required to follow Purdue rules and policies related to Covid-19. 

•     Professor Shin's office hour:  11:00am-noon on Mondays and Wednesdays via Webex (https://purdue.webex.com/meet/shin).  No appointment is needed during the office hour.  For a meeting outside the office hour, please email him (shin@purdue.edu) to set up an appointment in advance.

•  TA Office Hours:

• MASTER-CAM software has also been installed on the computers in Potter 333 and ME2028.   The next assignment must be completed before the lab.

Important notices

•  Homework submission:  Each homework assignment will be posted in the Brightspace and course website.  The completed homework (paper) will be collected by the instructor at the beginning of the lecture one week later or on the specified due date.  You must submit them before the class starts.

•  If a homework is submitted late, its grade will be used by 1/3 of the homework's full points per day late, unless under a university-proved reason.  If a late submitted homework is lost for any reason, the student will be fully responsible for any consequence.

•  Homework, project, lab and exam grades will be posted in Brightspace, and students should regularly check the grades to make sure they are correct,   and have to report any problem found within 1 week of the grade posting date, and also before the date of the final exam (students will be fully responsible for problems not reported in time).

• The attendance of the class lecture session is required. A student will not lose any point if 2 (or less) lecture classes are missed. However, starting from the 3rd missed class, the student will lose 1% of the class total grade for every class missed unless under a university-approved reason.

• All the documents and materials given to the students in any way (electronically or through hard copies or any other approach) during this class are only for the teaching and learning purpose within this class. The students are not permitted to use any part of the documents or materials for any other purpose. The students are not permitted to distribute or reproduce any part of the documents or materials in any way.
