Issam Mudawar has received the American Society for Gravitational and Space Research (ASGSR) Founder's Award.  This award is the highest honor given by the Society. It is made to a member of the Society for distinguished scientific contributions to and leadership in the field of gravitational research.

Until now given exclusively to biological scientists, Dr. Mudawar's award marks the first time since the Award's initiation in 1989 that it has been conferred upon a researcher in physical sciences.
