Zucrow Laboratories Naming Opportunities

Dear Supporter,

On behalf of our students, faculty, and staff, we would like to express our gratitude and appreciation for your continued support of the Maurice J. Zucrow Laboratories. As you may be well aware, both the School of Mechanical Engineering and the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics proudly support the Zucrow Laboratories. We have set an ambitious goal of becoming the leading research and education programs in the country. Demand for both programs is at an all-time high.

Zucrow Phase 2 Plan   Zucrow Phase 3 Plan

Zucrow Laboratories is essential to the success of both programs with world-renowned faculty members who have been educating students and collaborating with them on cutting-edge research projects for more than 65 years. Under the leadership of Professor Stephen Heister, we have laid the groundwork to raise funds for the Zucrow Laboratories ‘Three-Phase Addition’ to the Existing High Pressure Lab with the expectation of the project concluding in 2015.

  • Phase I of the project involves the purchase and integration of a new high-capacity air heater. The new heater will be four times more efficient than the 50-year-old version currently in use and is being funded through generous support/investment of Purdue University.
  • Phase II of the project involves construction of a new lab with 5 new test cells, a laser room, and additional buildup area. This building will be adjacent to the new air heater.
  • Phase III of the project is also simultaneously planned. It will house faculty offices and graduate student cubicles, providing unique opportunities for collaborative research, as well as naming opportunities for our friends and donors.

We wish to convey our great excitement over the proposed expansion of the High Pressure Lab Complex at the Maurice J. Zucrow Laboratories and highlight the impact that it will have on the research being conducted by our faculty and students. We anticipate it will help us significantly expand the high quality research already being conducted at the lab, and that we will be able to further broaden our impact on the world of gas turbine combustion and propulsion using the expanded facility. Thank you again for your continued support of Zucrow Laboratories and Purdue University.

With our sincere thanks,
