Distance Learning (Off-Campus) Students

Distance Learning opportunities are available through Purdue’s Engineering Professional Education Division (ProEd).  Master’s level students who wish to enroll for courses at a distance (as off-campus students) may contact ProEd.

Students seeking to pursue the MSME (Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering) degree should apply directly to the School of Mechanical Engineering as instructed on the application page of the Graduate School’s web site.  Applicants to the MSME program who will be off-campus students, are evaluated for admission on the same criteria as on-campus students.

As an off-campus student working toward the MSME, the “academic home” will be the School of Mechanical Engineering as the student will be following ME’s academic procedures and guidelines.  For registration purposes, the student will interact with ProEd.    Engineering Professional Education is responsible for all registration aspects and delivery of the course material to the distance learning student.  Any questions concerning registration, site issues, and exam proctoring, will be directed to ProEd.  Question about admissions, grade requirements, course selection for the plan of study, or requirements for graduation should be directed to the School of Mechanical Engineering.
