Purdue Road School - 109 Years of Innovation and Collaboration

The 109th Purdue Road School Transportation Conference and Expo was held on March 14-15, 2023. Purdue University Executive Vice President for Research Karen Plaut welcomed attendees at the Opening Session and highlighted the history of the annual conference that has grown from attendance of 75 in 1915 to over 3,000 transportation professional representatives from state and local agencies, industry, and academia who attended in 2023.

INDOT, Purdue wireless electric vehicle charging solution named to Top 100 report

A joint project between the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) and Purdue University to develop one of the world’s first dynamic wireless power transfer highway segments has earned a place in the 2022 Top 100 Strategic U.S. Infrastructure Project Report. The multimillion-dollar project also will test the performance of an innovative type of magnetizable concrete, developed by German startup Magment GmbH.

Darcy Bullock receives Wilbur S. Smith Distinguished Transportation Educator Award

Darcy Bullock, Lyles Family Professor of Civil Engineering and Director of the Joint Transportation Research Program (JTRP), has been awarded the prestigious 2022 Wilbur S. Smith Distinguished Transportation Educator Award by the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE). The purpose of this award is to recognize an educator (typically a professor) who has made an outstanding contribution to the transportation profession by relating academic studies to the actual practice of transportation. The award seeks to recognize transportation educators that help their students advance their professional development, enhance their opportunities to network with practicing transportation professionals, and become active participants in the profession.

Purdue Road School - 108 Years of Innovative Research

The 108th Purdue Road School Transportation Conference and Expo returned to an in-person format in 2022. Purdue University Executive Vice President Mung Chiang welcomed attendees at the Opening Session and remarked how good it was to conduct an event on campus with over 2,700 transportation professionals representing a wide range of agencies, industry, and academia.
