2020/05/12 Online Panel: Building Extraordinary Careers in Economic Uncertainty
In the past few years, "career planning" was easy: Get a degree, enter a well-established company, and earn big pay checks. The Coronavirus has changed everything. In March 2020, the "circuit breaker" of the New York Stock Exchange unprecedentedly was triggered four times in a month. The unemployment rate jumped from 3.5% in February 2020 to 18% (estimated) in April 2020. Now is the time to think about careers carefully and explore possibilities. It is the best time to consider extraordinary opportunities, simply because the ordinary ones are scarce or even non-existent. This panel helps students think about opportunities and careers at uncertain time.
