Minutes of Meeting #957 January 25, 2002

Present: Professors Collicott, Gaunt, Groll, Huggins, Okos, Revankar, Schmeiser, Spitzer, Sutton, Venkatasubramanian, and Zoltowski.

1. The meeting was called to order by Chair Sutton. The agenda was approved as distributed.

2. Meeting minutes #956 were approved as distributed.

3. Announcements: Chair Sutton reported that there would be no special handling of EPICS documents as requested by the Registrar and Space Management and Academic Scheduling and that these documents should go through the regular faculty document process.

CE terms to the University Senate was discussed. CFR can make adjustments so that the terms of multiple senators from a single school do not coincide.

Dean Katehi plans to convene an informal faculty group for advice and has asked the Heads to recommend members of their faculty.

4. Groll moved that EFDs 59-00, 87-00, and 2-01 be approved for the faculty; Gaunt seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. EFDs 59-00, 87-00, and 2-01 were approved for the faculty.

• EFD 87-00 ME New Course ME 640 Structural Acoustics
• EFD 2-01 ME New Course ME 625 Advanced Combustion

5. Gaunt moved that EFD 32-01 be approved for the faculty; Zoltowski seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. EFD 32-01 was approved for the faculty.

§ EFD 32-01 IDE New Course IDE 290 Professional Internship.

6. Groll moved that EFD 33-01 be approved for distribution to the faculty; Revankar seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.

• EFD 33-01 was approved for distribution to the faculty.

7. Spitzer moved that EFD 34-01 be approved for distribution to the faculty; Groll seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.

• EFD 34-01 was approved for distribution to the faculty with editorial changes.

8. Zoltowski moved that EFD 4-01 be approved for distribution to the faculty; Groll seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.

§ EFD 4-01 was approved for distribution to the faculty with editorial changes.

9. Zoltowski moved that EFD 6-01 be approved for distribution to the faculty; Groll seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.

§ EFD 6-01 was approved for distribution to the faculty with editorial changes.

10. Zoltowski moved that EFD 14-01 be approved for distribution to the faculty; Groll seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.

§ EFD 14-01 was approved for distribution to the faculty.

11. Collicott moved that EFD 37-01 be approved for distribution to the faculty; Revankar seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.

§ EFD 37-01 was approved for distribution to the faculty.

12. Gaunt moved that the terms of CE representatives to the University Senate beginning June 2002 be two years and three years. Subsequent elections will be for three year terms. Zoltowski seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.

13. The meeting was adjourned at 1:15 p.m.
