Arckit Go Plus

Arckit Go Plus is a highly-detailed building kit that allows users to design accurate models of modern buildings. Altogether, the kit contains over 175 building pieces and a set of instructions for building realistic three-dimensional scale models. Children also have the option to choose to design their own building using the pieces provided. The kit’s 29 unique components connect without the use of an adhesive, which allows the user to create different models based on different designs. If children follow the starter guide, they can still choose to add to or tweak the design while building based on their own creative or critical choices. Overall, this gift promotes engineering thinking and design because it encourages the user to think creatively and design a model that could realistically be used to construct a full size house. In addition, it pushes children to think critically about their structure and make improvements to the design as they go through the process of designing and building their model.

Engineering thinking and design practices the gift encourages children to do or learn about:

Make observations, try the solution, test the solution, redesign the solution, make improvements to the solution, refine ideas

Additional practices and skills needed by engineers that were addressed by the gift: Spatial reasoning, critical thinking, creative thinking, design, problem solving
