Architecto

Architecto is a building game where players create three dimensional models based on illustrations from a game book out of 18 given “geoblocks”. The game book contains six levels of difficulty, ranging from easy to expert, and a total of 50 models to create. Users can play alone or with others, but the goal stays the same either way - to recreate the given image out of the blocks. This game promotes engineering thinking through an emphasis on spatial reasoning and an understanding of concepts of geometry. As the user progresses from the first puzzle to the next, the difficulty increases, which gives the user the opportunity to continuously challenge themselves and gradually master the concepts and skills needed to play the game.

Engineering thinking and design practices the gift encourages children to do or learn about: Working as a team

Additional practices and skills needed by engineers that were addressed by the gift: Spatial reasoning, problem solving
