Brain Train is a logic puzzle game, made by Smart Games and targeted at ages 3 and up. The game includes a puzzle book with instructions and 48 challenges ranging from easy to master levels, 3 train pieces, and 9 blocks of varying shapes and colors. The player must select a challenge and place the puzzle blocks in the proper order on the train to match the shape and colors shown in the puzzle book.

There are 4 different levels of puzzles each recommended for a different age group: Starter (4+), Junior (5+), Expert (6+), and Master (7+). The Starter level shows the player both the color and the shape requiring a player to simply put the blocks in the proper spaces. The Junior level shows the player all the shapes, but not all the colors challenging the player to find the proper piece. The Expert level reveals all the colors and the player must determine the shape. Lastly, the Master level reveals no shapes and only some of the colors so the player must determine both the shape and color of some pieces. Each puzzle has only one solution, so all of the different levels require the child to use problem solving skills and logical thinking to determine that unique solution to each puzzle. Users must think about the answer and test their plan through trial and error to solve the challenge.

Brain Train is an excellent game to promote logical thinking across a variety of age groups. Even younger children who may be too young to grasp the complex puzzles can learn about spatial reasoning and shape recognition. This game is an excellent option for children who enjoy logical puzzles and problem solving.
