Pango Blocks, by app developer Studio Pango, is a building puzzle app targeted for ages 4+. The game presents the player a simple challenge: help the game’s protagonist Pango, a cheerful blue raccoon, get to his goal on the other side of the game’s map. Each puzzle tasks the player with building a safe path from point A to B, using a limited number of blocks, ramps, and other pieces. The solution to each of the challenges isn’t always simple, and players must use spatial reasoning and problem solving skills to progress onwards. Sometimes the solution requires the pieces to be used in unexpected ways, challenging the player to think creatively about the problem and learn from past attempts. Pango Block has two levels of difficulty, easy and hard, and the puzzles also progressively get more difficult as the player continues. However, even at their most challenging, the puzzles still remain simple enough that young children will be able to enjoy the game without getting too frustrated. The characters are cute and emotive, and their goals are relatively simple, making Pango Blocks a good fit for its target audience. Overall, Pango Blocks is a great app for its target audience, using simple puzzles to teach young children about constraints basic problem-solving skills.
