Indianapolis Challenger Learning Center

Thousands of students and teachers throughout central Indiana will experience the excitement of space exploration this year as part of the Indianapolis Challenger Learning Center of Decatur Township simulation programs. Merging the power of a child's imagination with the excitement of discovery, students become engineers and scientists as they "Rendezvous with a Comet" (suggested for grades 5 and older), "Return to the Moon" (suggested for grades 6 and older), "Voyage to Mars" (suggested for grades 7 and older).  Students work as teams in mission control and aboard a spacecraft as they test their decision-making skills and solve problems during this innovative, inquiry based, space-themed science and math simulation.  Pre and post-flight activities allow teachers to prepare students for their flight as well as use the experience to delve further into science and technology careers.
