Terre Haute Children’s Museum offers “Christmas in September” engraved brick specials

Many families are sadly bringing their summer fun to a close, but the Terre Haute Children’s Museum is already looking forward to the holidays with a “Christmas in September” brick special!

The holidays may be months away, but you can get a jump start on your holiday shopping by sponsoring a brick at the Terre Haute Children’s Museum! Is there a new baby in your family, a couple who recently married, or a loved one who you would like to honor or memorialize? We have bricks for children, families, teachers, organizations and more, and, by sponsoring a brick now, this not only guarantees that it will be engraved before Christmas, you’ll also get some added bonus items!

Kids’ bricks, for children 18 and younger, are $79, hold one line of up to 16 characters, and during the Christmas in September sale, Kids’ brick sponsors will receive 2 free Museum admission passes and a $5 gift certificate for the Museum’s Science Store.

Two-line bricks are $199, hold two lines of up to 16 characters each, and two-line brick sponsors will receive four free Museum admission passes and a $10 gift certificate for the Museum’s Science Store.

Four-line limestone blocks are $1,000, hold four lines of up to 16 characters each, and limestone block sponsors will receive 10 free Museum admission passes and a $50 gift certificate to the Museum’s Science Store.

Those who are purchasing a two-line brick or limestone to honor an educator can also choose to have their bricks placed in a special section called the Educators’ Corner.

Whether you choose to have your brick engraved with your grandchild’s name, your family’s name, in memory of a loved one, or with an inspirational quote, it will be observed by many for years to come by all who pass by the Terre Haute Children’s Museum. And, your tax-deductible brick sponsorship will help the Museum raise much-needed funding for exhibits, programs and scholarships!

This special offer expires on Sept. 30, so make plans to sponsor your brick soon! To sponsor a brick or limestone, visit www.thchildrensmuseum.com and put your mouse on the “Support” tab to see the link. To download and print a copy of the brick sponsorship form, visit http://www.thchildrensmuseum.com/images/stories/documents/BricksFlyerNew.pdf. Bricks can also be sponsored in person at the Museum in person during regular business hours. The Museum, located at the corner of 8th Street and Wabash Avenue in downtown Terre Haute, is open Tuesday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from Noon to 5 p.m.

If you have already sponsored a brick or limestone but have not yet found it on the Museum’s walls, you can use our “Brick Finder” to see its location. To use the system, visit www.thchildrensmuseum.com/brickfinder and use the Search function to locate bricks by searching for the text that was placed on the brick or the name of the person who purchased the brick. The Brick Finder will then show where the brick is located on the outside walls of the Children’s Museum. There is also a Browse button, which can be used to see all the bricks in each section. The Brick Finder site was created by Andy Kruth, who graduated from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in 2011 with a degree in software engineering and computer science.

If you have not yet purchased a brick, or if you would like to sponsor another brick, you can also do that by visiting the Brick Finder site.
