Illinois-Indiana Sea Grant Request for Social Science Research Proposals
The Illinois-Indiana Sea Grant College Program (IISG) issues this call for social science research projects to be completed in FY 2014-15. Research questions should be designed to identify perceptions and attitudes which affect behavior change and/or evaluate programs, decision-support tools or social networks currently in place. Projects should address one or more of the following priority topic areas:
1. Indicators of Great Lakes literacy and/or evaluation of education networks in place to address and improve Great Lakes literacy
2. Contaminant removal programs currently underway, especially those related to Areas of Concern and/or unwanted pharmaceuticals
3. Spread and impacts of aquatic invasive species in the Great Lakes region
4. Adaptation to climate change in Lake Michigan coastal areas
Project investigators from educational or research institutions in Illinois or Indiana are eligible to apply. Investigators may request up to $70,000 from IISG and must demonstrate at least 50% match in non-federal funds. Projects will last up to 24 months.
All interested parties must submit a letter of intent (LOI) to firstname.lastname@example.org by 5:00 PM Central Time on February 8, 2013. Full proposals should be submitted to the same address by 5:00 PM Central Time on April 17, 2013. Full proposals from parties who did not submit a LOI will not be considered.
