Summer 2018 | ||||||||||||||
We're happy the semester ended with Commencement and a wonderful IE Commencement Reception, attended by many graduates and their families. We were also pleased to honor Keith J. Krach (BSIE 1979), who received an Honorary Doctorate from Purdue University - the 6th Purdue IE ever to do so. April was a busy time with our annual 2018 Alan B. Pritsker Scholars Distinguished Lecture, given by Dr. Barry L. Nelson, and a banquet honoring six new Outstanding Industrial Engineers (see below). We're thankful to the many of you who supported Purdue IE during the annual Purdue Day of Giving fundraising day. Our other big news in April was the announcement of a new collaborative "Design for Security" online badge program between Intel Corp. and the Purdue College of Engineering (more below). Purdue IE had another successful Purdue Day of Giving
(PDoG) this year. We raised a total of $620,956 from 117 donors. Our IISE student chapter partnered with the school in PDoG efforts for the first time this year and
did very well, raising over $5,000 to support their
activities and winning $1,500 during the 11:00 a.m. challenge for having the most unique photo with the PDoG logo! We are very proud of the effort and
organization of our IISE student chapter during PDoG 2018 and look forward to
partnering together with them again for PDoG 2019. YOU MADE YOUR MARK during Day of Giving 2018 - thanks to all who supported Purdue IE! Watch the Day of Giving thank-you video. | ||||||||||||||
