We're
thrilled to announce that the 2018 U.S. News & World Report rankings
published this month moved our graduate program up three spots to become the #6 program in the nation! And our undergraduate program remains top-ranked at #3 in the U.S.
This
semester we welcome Dr. Brandon Pitts as an Assistant Professor, and Dr. Paul M. Griffin as a Professor of Industrial Engineering, the new director of the Regenstrief Center for Healthcare Engineering (RCHE), and the St. Vincent Health Chair of Healthcare Engineering.
With
sadness we say farewell to Dr. W. Dale Compton, Lillian M. Gilbreth Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Industrial Engineering, who passed away on February 7. We extend our
condolences to his family, and we will sorely miss him. He was a true scholar
and an intellectual giant, an ever-helpful mentor, a kind friend and a
quintessential gentleman. The legacy and impact of Dale's contributions to our
school, to the college, to Purdue, to the engineering profession, to the
National Academies, and to arts and humanities will live on for generations to
come.
