It’s an exciting time to be part of Purdue IE! Our students and faculty continue to rethink IE in their research and studies. IE graduate students are involved in exciting new frontiers such as simulating life on Mars and using wearables to impact student fitness. Undergrads are practicing what we teach - through varied internships and by addressing real-world problems in their research. Our alumni are on the cutting edge of IE practice, helping to rethink IE with their new endeavors, appointments, and service.
Along with our largest fall enrollment ever, this month we celebrated our graduating students. And if you haven’t yet visited the “new” Grissom Hall, let our students give you a visual tour via our “Grissom Hall Reinvented” video.
Happy New Year from all of our students, faculty and staff as we work to continually expand the field of industrial engineering.

During the fall semester, IE Senior Design
student teams worked with actual companies to design a performance management
system, streamline factory production, improve a production schedule, and
increase work floor space utilization and organization. Students not only learned about real-world business projects, but served
companies by providing practical recommendations for improvements. |
