Purdue IE Webletter

Winter 2013

Looking forward . . . to an exciting 2013!

Abhi DeshmukhGreetings to all of the Purdue IE family!

As we enter into the new year, we're pleased to bring you the winter edition of our quarterly newsletter.  Many exciting changes are taking place as our School continues to rethink IE for the coming generations.  I think this will be evident to you in the stories below -- I particularly encourage you to view our video and take a look at IE Impact, if you haven't already.

It is my expectation that these changes will only accelerate as we move into a new calendar year.  A new energy is palpable in Grissom Hall (aided by a few small, but effective remodeling projects -- with more to come) and I encourage you to stop by and experience that energy for yourself when you next make it back to campus.

Best wishes to all of you for a happy and prosperous 2013!

IE alums, students and faculty come together at recognition banquet

Chuck ArmstrongMany aspects of the Purdue IE family came together in early November for the Purdue IE Recognition Banquet.  Scholarship and fellowship recipients were recognized, as were the generous alums who made it all possible.  Seattle Mariners' president Chuck Armstrong (BSIE '65, left) spoke to the group about his days as a student on the West Lafayette campus.

Keep Purdue IE in the loop!

We like to think of Purdue IE as one big extended family -- with about 8,000 members! It's tough to keeps tabs on so many people, so we'd like your help in keeping us all connected.

If you've changed jobs, had a new child, received a promotion or discovered that your next-door neighbor in Bugtussle, Nebraska is also a Purdue IE, drop us a note and/or photograph at: IEalumni@purdue.edu.

We'll feature these items in future issues of the Purdue IE Webletter!
