Swinehart retired in April, 2007 as President and COO of Emerson Power Transmission Corp (EPT), a division of Emerson. EPT is a manufacturer of bearings, components, gearing and couplings for the power transmission industry and sells under the Sealmaster, Browning, Morse, McGill, Rollway, Jaure and Kop-Flex brand names. Prior to joining Emerson in 1990, he was with P.T. Components, Inc. in Indianapolis for 9 years as Vice President - Corporate Planning and Development. Prior to P.T. Components Mr. Swinehart spent 16 years with FMC Corporation in both line and staff positions. He has a Bachelors in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from Butler University in Indianapolis. Purdue involvement includes Purdue North Central Advisory Board Member and President's Council. He received an Outstanding Engineer Award in 2003 from Purdue's School of Industrial Engineering.
