Chairman The Innovation Factory & Chairman and Managing Director Accuitive Medical Ventures Tom Weldon has thirty years of senior management experience, primarily in the medical device industry, in both early stage and public companies. He started over a dozen companies, which in total have created more than $2 billion in shareholder value. He currently holds 24 issued US patents for various medical devices. Tom currently serves as Chairman of The Innovation Factory, which he co-founded, and several offspring companies including LipoSonix, NeoVista and Cellutions. He is also co-founder, Chairman and Managing Director of Accuitive Medical Ventures. Tom began his career working for the Square D Company in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, as a project engineer for two years, and then received his MBA from Indiana University in 1981. He then joined Arthur Young & Company. In 1987 he left Arthur Young and co-founded his first company, Novoste Puerto Rico, which was a diagnostic catheter company focused on out-patient angiography. His interest in medical devices, obtained from his father, resulted in Tom starting several companies and has several inventions and patents on medical devices. Tom Weldon was born in West Lafayette, Indiana but later moved to Northern Indiana. He earned his BSIE degree from Purdue University in 1977.
