Sunday June 26: Welcome Reception

ICOPS/SOFE will host a welcome reception on Sunday evening, June 26, 2011.  This event is open to all registered conference attendees and is included in your registration fee.  Additional tickets for guests can be purchased during the registration process.  Please be sure to stop by and take advantage of this networking opportunity.  

Monday June 27: Reception for Women in Engineering and IEEE members

ICOPS will host a welcome reception on Monday evening, June 27, 2011.  This event is open to Women in Science and Engineering and IEEE members.  Key women in engineering will speak in this event. Reception with food, drinks, and entertainment will be provided.

Tuesday June 28: 5K FUN Run

The conference organizers are working to put together a well-rounded program for you.  The first ever, ICOPS/SOFE 5K FUN Run will be held at 6 am on Tuesday, June 28,  2011.  This will be for people of all levels - exercise enthusiasts and first time runners - ALL are welcome to participate and have FUN.   Be sure to indicate your interest during the registration process - more information to come.

Tuesday June 28: House of Blues  - ICOPS/SOFE Restaurant Exclusive - A can't miss EVENT!!  

The conference organizers have secured the House of Blues - exclusively for  a joint event for all ICOPS/SOFE conference attendees on Tuesday, June 28, 2011 from 6:00pm-9:00pm.  The House of Blues, Chicago has grown into a premier live music club venue for touring bands.  Come out and join your conference attendees for a fun filled evening of live music and southern-inspired cuisine. There will be a one hour host-bar then cash bar for the remainder of the evening.  Transportation to the event will be provided.  Please be sure to purchase your ticket for a nominal fee of US$30 during the registration process.   Space is limited and is on a first come basis.

Wednesday June 29: ICOPS Banquet

The ICOPS Banquet will be on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 6:00pm-10:00pm  aboard The Odyssey - the largest fine-dining cruise ship on the Great Lakes.  ICOPS guest will sail into the sunset on Lake Michigan as they take in the beautiful Chicago Skyline.  Savor creative appetizers, entrees and mouth-watering desserts while listening to live jazz music.  Be sure to bring your camera.  The ship sets sail from Navy Pier and transportation will be provided. Space is limited and tickets will be issued on a first come basis.  Tickets and can be purchased for US$50 during the on-line registration process and at the Registration Desk on-site (If available).


Wednesday June 29: SOFE Banquet

The SOFE Banquet will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 6:30pm- 10:30pm at the Adler Planetarium - America's First Planetarium, founded in 1930 by Chicago business leader Max  Adler.  The museum is closed to the public for this exclusive SOFE event and is home to three full-size theaters, extensive space science exhibitions, and one of the world's most important antique astronomical instrument collections.  SOFE guests will delight in a sophisticated, unique, entertaining dining experience while taking in the breathtaking views of Chicago's skyline and Lake Michigan. Exclusive telescope viewing will be available on the terrace.  Transportation to the Adler Planetarium will be provided.  Space is limited and tickets will be issued on a first come basis.  Tickets and can be purchased for US$50 during the on-line registration process and at the Registration Desk on-site (If available).
