Call for Papers

April 10-11, 2010

Purdue University

The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) sponsors student conferences in each AIAA Region as a means to encourage students in aerospace related fields to discuss research, exchange knowledge, and generate interest in the field of aerospace engineering. This Call for Papers solicits papers for the Region III Regional Student Conference.

AIAA has three distinct paper competitions, an undergraduate, a masters division and a team division. The prizes are as follows:

First place:  $500 USD and a trip to the Aerospace Sciences Meeting in January, 2011 for one author.

 Second Place: $300 USD

 Third Place: $250 USD

Regardless of category, only one author will be funded to attend the Aerospace Sciences Meeting in Orlando, FL.

Rules for the AIAA Competition:

1. Papers must be prepared according to the AIAA Author Kit (see in a single column format. Papers, including tables, figures and acknowledgments can be no longer than 11 pages total.

2. For the Masters and Undergraduate category only two student authors can be listed on the paper. The Team category can have 3 - 10 student authors listed. Faculty advisors from a University may be listed as co-authors. Please note that NASA advisors, Industry advisors, etc. may NOT be listed as co-authors; they should instead be noted in the paper acknowledgment.

3. Papers submitted to the Regional Student Conferences should not be submitted for presentation or publication to any other conference or journal until and after the Regional Student Conference. If the paper is not the first place Undergraduate, Masters, or Team paper, the paper may then be submitted to other conferences or journals.

 First Place: $ 250

 Second Place: $150
