User-generated online reviews are invaluable resources for consumers to predict the quality of products. However, as the quantity of online reviews grows, making sense of numerous online reviews becomes more challenging. Despite recent successes in various computational approaches (e.g., text mining, sentiment analysis, and visualization), making a computer understand unstructured online reviews still remains a difficult problem. To alleviate the challenges, we created a simple technique, called ``Sentiment Marks,'' which enables reviewers to mark alternatives' names, positive and negative aspects in their own reviews to instill more structure into online reviews.
